Weird creature

Yet another drawing I did while following along with Feng via a Gnomon Workshop DVD. There are some obvious differences in the designs of the creature but the biggest difference is that he worked with pencil and paper, calling it done once he laid down the darkest color his pencil made.

After reaching the point in the DVD when he moved on I instead added a warm grey fill to give my virtual paper a middle area. Then I used a white color pencil to pull out some high lights. Finally I threw in a dark green multiply layer to give some color contrast to the piece.

It was a good exercise.
